Sacred Journeys

Ulwe to Maharashtra.

We are your trusted ride for the most sacred circuits in Maharashtra. Whether you are planning a Panch Jyotirlinga Yatra, the Ashtavinayaka circuit, or a single temple visit, our drivers know the roads, the routes, and the importance of reaching on time.

5 of 12 Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra

Panch Jyotirlinga Darshan

Maharashtra is home to five of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Each is a self-manifest shrine of immense spiritual significance, visited by millions of devotees every year. The Panch Jyotirlinga Yatra can be completed in a single circuit, and we provide comfortable, door-to-door cab service for the entire journey.

Maharashtra Jyotirlinga Darshan

Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga

Trimbak, Nashik~175 km from Ulwe

Situated at the source of the sacred Godavari River in the Brahmagiri Hills, Trimbakeshwar is one of the most revered of all twelve Jyotirlingas. The shrine is unique in housing a three-faced lingam representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh in a single form. Built from black stone with intricate Hemadpanthi carvings, the temple is also one of the main sites of the Kumbh Mela. Priests here perform the famed Narayan Nagbali and Kaal Sarp Dosh pujas.

Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga

Bhimashankar, Manchar, Pune~130 km from Ulwe

Deep within the Sahyadri ranges of Pune district, Bhimashankar sits at the origin of the River Bhima inside a protected wildlife sanctuary. The temple follows Nagara-style architecture and is surrounded by dense forest full of rare flora and fauna. According to the Shiva Purana, Lord Shiva destroyed the demon Tripurasura here and the sweat from his body became the Bhima River. The forested path to the temple makes this both a spiritual and nature pilgrimage.

Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga

Ellora, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar~330 km from Ulwe

The last and smallest of the twelve Jyotirlingas, Grishneshwar stands beside the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ellora Caves. Carved from red basalt in fine Hemadpanthi style, the temple carries extraordinary religious weight despite its modest size. Devotees believe a single darshan here cleanses the karma of many lifetimes. The surrounding area also includes Daulatabad Fort, making this a rich heritage visit.

Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga

Parli, Beed~390 km from Ulwe

Known as Vaijnath, meaning Lord of physicians, this Jyotirlinga in Beed district is associated with healing, cure, and moksha. The temple is believed to have medicinal vegetation and plants in its surroundings that hold Ayurvedic significance. The Shiva here is worshipped with particular devotion during Vijayadashami and Mahashivratri. According to scripture, this is where Ravana prayed intensely to Lord Shiva to grant the lingam its power.

Aundha Nagnath Jyotirlinga

Aundha, Hingoli~440 km from Ulwe

Believed to be the most ancient of all twelve Jyotirlingas on earth, Aundha Nagnath is mentioned first in the Shiva Purana. The temple is a magnificent example of Hemadpanthi architecture built during the Yadava dynasty, with sprawling halls and intricate stone carvings covering every surface. It is especially revered during the month of Shravan and on Mahashivratri, when lakhs of pilgrims undertake the Nagnath Yatra from across Maharashtra.

8 Sacred Ganesha Temples

Ashtavinayak Darshan

The Ashtavinayaka Yatra is a pilgrimage to eight ancient temples of Lord Ganesha located in and around Pune and Raigad districts, each housing a distinct self-manifest idol with its own legend. All eight idols are svayambhu, meaning they were not carved by human hands. The circuit can be completed in three days and is one of the most popular spiritual journeys in Maharashtra.

Ashtavinayak Ganesh Darshan Maharashtra
Morgaon, Pune

Mayureshwar

The first and most important temple of the Ashtavinayaka circuit. Lord Ganesha here rides a peacock (mayur) and is believed to have slain the demon Sindhu at this very spot. The temple, built during the Bahamani reign from black stone, has four minarets and is enclosed by a 50-foot wall. Pilgrims begin and end their circuit here.

Siddhatek, Ahmednagar

Siddhivinayak

The only idol in the Ashtavinayaka circuit with the trunk turned to the right, considered especially powerful. Vishnu is believed to have worshipped Ganesha here before defeating the demons Madhu and Kaitabha. Two great saints, Morya Gosavi and Narayan Maharaj, are said to have attained enlightenment at this temple.

Pali, Raigad

Ballaleshwar

Named after his devotee Ballal, whom Lord Ganesha rescued from villagers who beat him for his relentless worship. The only Ashtavinayaka idol named after a devotee rather than an attribute. The temple's architecture is designed so that after the winter solstice, the sun's rays fall directly on the Ganesha idol at sunrise. The prasad here is Besan Ladoo, unique to this temple.

Mahad, Raigad

Varadavinayak

The giver of bounty and success. The idol, discovered in the adjacent lake in 1690, faces east with its trunk to the left. A sacred oil lamp has reportedly burned continuously in this temple since 1892. Uniquely, devotees here are allowed to personally approach and touch the idol, a rarity in major Ganesha temples.

Theur, Pune

Chintamani

Ganesha here is believed to have recovered the precious Chintamani jewel from the greedy Guna for sage Kapila. The idol faces east under a kadamba tree, giving Theur its ancient name Kadambanagar. This was the family deity of Peshwa Madhavrao I. The temple sits at the sacred confluence of three rivers: Mula, Mutha, and Bhima.

Lenyadri, Pune

Girijatmaj

This temple is carved entirely out of a single stone hill and forms the eighth cave in a complex of 18 Buddhist-origin caves. Parvati is believed to have performed penance here to beget Ganesha, giving him the name Girijatmaj (son of Girija). The temple has no electric lights and is lit naturally by sunlight throughout the day. It has 307 steps leading up to it.

Ozar, Pune

Vighneshwar

The remover of obstacles. Ganesha here defeated the demon Vighnasura, who was destroying all sacred rituals and yagnas. The temple's golden pinnacle, possibly built by Chimaji Appa after his victory over the Portuguese, is visible from a distance. The idol is adorned with rubies in the eyes and a diamond on its forehead.

Ranjangaon, Pune

Mahaganapati

Lord Shiva is believed to have worshipped Ganesha here before battling the demon Tripurasura, calling this form Mahaganapati. The temple, dating to the 9th century, is designed so that during Dakshinayan the sun's rays fall directly on the idol at dawn. The deity is seated on a lotus flanked by Riddhi and Siddhi. Peshwa Madhavrao built the inner sanctum that houses the swayambhu idol.
